Tourist Pamphlet and guided Walk

With support from the Big Loteri Fund, Menter Caerdydd have been developing a tourist pamphlet following the path of the Welsh language in Cardiff through the ages.

On the 8th of July, 2008, Menter Caerdydd will launch the pamphlet with a guided walk led by the infamous historian Dr John Davies.

At 6 o’clock pm invitees and member of the public will rendevous at Tair Pluen public House. Dr John Davies will then lead the participants through the locations specified on the pamphlet.

Following the launch the booklet along with podcast of the tour will be available to download.

Even if you live in the city or visiting you’re bound to learn something from this informative event.

The booklet will be distributed to schools and public places.

Menter Caerdydd will also be holding a special launch on the 8th of August at 11 o’clock am during the week of the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff.

In addition to the booklet a podcast describing the locations on the trail has been produced.

Heledd Wyn has started working as the Heritage Officer for the Welsh language in Cardiff on 4 specific projects over 2 years:

1  offering Welsh language workshops in Secondary school in the City;

2  creating a tourist map of the Welsh language landmarks in Cardiff;

3  creating a reference book of documents relating to the Welsh language in Cardiff;

4  produce a short film exploring the development of the Welsh language in Cardiff.
