Menter Caerdydd's Care Schemes are held at three locations - Ysgol Treganna, Cardiff West, Ysgol Melin Gruffydd, Cardiff North, and Ysgol y Berllan Deg, Cardiff East. We employ friendly and qualified staff to lead the schemes. During the schemes the children take part in all sorts of activities eg arts and craft, games as well as trips to St Fagans, skating, Margam Park, Cinema etc.

“Jessica always comes out of Menter Caerdydd happy and with a picture she has drawn or a piece of art she has created.  Jessica loves going on the trips, I think as well as having fun with her friends it gives her a sense of independence.”

I noticed that the Treganna play scheme is due for its annual inspection and I just wanted to pass on my comments to the inspectors.

My son, Edward O’Hare-Willmott (age 6), has attended Treganna during a number of holidays since last year. He has always enjoyed it and looks forward to going back. Yesterday was his first day there this summer and when I arrived to pick him up at approx 4.40 he was having so much fun that he sent me away so that he could stay longer!! I had to pick my younger son up first and then come back for Edward! I think this must be one of the best forms of feedback a parent could get.

It is reassuring that Edward enjoys himself in an environment where he can use Welsh over the long summer period as we do not speak Welsh at home. He very much looks forward to the trips which seem to be very well organised. Even on a rainy day like yesterday the staff seemed to be able to keep the children happy and constructively entertained for the whole day.
