A 10% discount is available on some of the courses when you register 3 months or more in advance so if you know anyone who wants to learn (or learn more) Welsh I'd be very grateful if you could forward this email to them. The 10% discount is available on Welsh beginners' courses starting in September until the 27th of June...

Welsh for Parents Course

Welsh for Parents Course
Menter Caerdydd are pleased to announce we shall be holding another 8 week ‘Welsh for Parents’ course. The course covered basic language skills to use at home with your child, a better understanding of Welsh culture, introduction to Welsh services in Cardiff i.e. Urdd, S4C, National Eisteddfod, MYM, Menter Caerdydd and Cardiff’s Welsh for Adults Centre. Every year, American Welsh Learners form Utah visit Wales to practise their Welsh. During their stay the travel all over the country and visit the National Eisteddfod and our Learners coffee morning. Here is a picture of some of this year's group in the Conway.

What We Do

Menter Caerdydd, (Cardiff Welsh Language Initiative) is a community based organisation.

Mentrau laith or Language Initiatives are one of the most exciting developments regarding the future of the language. Mentrau Iaith reflect the wish of local people to see an increase in the use of the language and to normalise its use in all fields.

We are active in many fields: Care and Playschemes for Chirdren; Leisure Activities; Activities for Learners; Welsh for Adults; Assisting Public, Private and Voluntary bodies in using Welsh; Informing the public of what is happening in Welsh in Cardiff.

PROUD TO BE DOING BUSINESS IN WELSH

During recent weeks Menter Caerdydd has been in contact with many local businesses in Cardiff presenting them with the organisation's Private Sector pack and asking them to consider utilising the Welsh language in their businesses. Also provided was a bilingual "Open/Closed" door sign which many willingly agreed to display.

Many businesses have shown their support. Menter Caerdydd would like to thank these businesses for their positive approach and to invite others to contact its Business Liaison officer on 02920 565658 if they would like to receive expert advice and assistance free of charge.
